| A sense of European optimism for the construction industry |
|
The head of the European task force, Mr. Horst Reichenbach, stand for this notion when during his speech in Athens he stressed the need to restart the five main roads concession contract which have been paused due to a lack of funding. For that purpose, 8.7 billion Euros will be outlaid through the programs of NSRF (with a simultaneous decrease of the national participation rate at 5%) attempting to boost the market. Under that optimistic perspective for the construction industry, the organizer “T Expo” carries on the preparations for the 6th organization of the international exhibition “METEC – Construction Machinery”. The new “meeting of the giants” will take place from Thursday March 15 till Sunday March 18 2012 at the most contemporary European standard exhibition center of the country, the “Metropolitan Expo” located next to the international airport of Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos” which has proved to be the ideal place for the exhibition’s particular needs. A sense of particular interest is given by the fact that the 6th edition is simultaneously organized with the international exhibition “DOMICATEC – Building & Renovating” on a relevant subject concerning building materials and will take place in another hall of the exhibition center.
“METEC - Construction Machinery”, dubbed as the “meeting of the giants”, was first established in 2001 as a constructional sector estate not only for Greece but also for the wider region of the Southeast Europe. |

It is commonly admitted by both the Greek government and the European Union leadership that in order for the country to enter an era of economic growth, it is necessary to bolster the domestic construction industry which is one of the most important strengths of the Greek economy.
