Various interesting events for technical companies, quarries, mines, owners of construction machinery and for the entire world of constructions, are presented by the 5th edition of the international exhibition «METEC – Construction Machinery» which will take place during 20-23 March 2009 in the new and modern Metropolitan Expo exhibition centre which has already begun its operation near the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.

In 4 spacious parallel hall rooms, covering a total surface of 50,000 square metres, visitors will come across with the latest developments of the international industry of construction machinery and worksites’ equipment, while they will be given the opportunity to be updated with the technological developments in their sector by attending the below mentioned conferences:

■ «Developments in tunneling and supporting machinery»:
(Friday 20 March, 4 pm - 8 pm, Conference Hall Σ2).

Organized by the Greek Tunnelling Society with the cooperation of «Technoekdotiki» with the topics of:

• Experiences from the mechanized tunneling with the use of TBM-EPB in the metro of Athens.
• Application of Jet-Grounding method for tunneling in Egnatia Odos.
• The use of mechanical equipment in the advanced methods of construction of underground works in Greece.

■ «New European Model for concrete EN 206- Innovative products»:
(Saturday 21 March, 11 am - 2 pm, Conference Hall Σ2).

Organized by «Technoekdotiki» with the topics of the latest advancements concerning the new European model for the EN 206 concrete, the phenomenon of carbonated concrete, the international experience in self concentrated concrete as well as presentations of new products.

■  «The modern quarry. Technology - Equipment»:
(Friday 20 March, 10.30 am -2 pm, Conference Hall Σ2).

The conference is organized by the company «Man Air SA».

■ «Asphalt Concrete. Institutional context and new technologies»:
(Sunday 22 March, 11 am - 2 pm, Conference Hall Σ2).

Organized by «Technoekdotiki» with topics which analyze the current status in the specific sector of the Greek market, tests of equivalent models from foreign countries while proposals will be made for the creation of a respective institutional context.
New concrete technologies will also be presented.
